The FRP Moto FX140 is an advanced 140cc off-road dirt bike for riders ready to step up to an oil-cooled engine, a true manual clutch, and serious trail performance.
Its 140cc four-stroke engine produces a manufacturer-rated 11 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed manual transmission, electric start, kick-start backup, 17-inch front wheel, 14-inch rear wheel, and hydraulic disc brakes at both ends. With a 33.9-inch seat height and an approximately 171-pound machine weight, the FX140 is intended for properly sized, experienced riders—not first-time children moving directly from a bicycle.
Why Choose the FRP FX140?
- 140cc oil-cooled four-stroke engine: Oil cooling helps manage engine heat during longer rides, warm-weather use, and demanding trail conditions.
- 11.0 horsepower: Manufacturer-rated output is 11.0 hp (8.2 kW) at 7,500 rpm, with 10.2 N·m of torque at 6,000 rpm.
- Four-speed manual clutch: A 4-up manual transmission gives the rider direct control over power delivery and gear selection.
- Electric and kick start: Use the electric starter for convenience or the kick starter as a mechanical backup.
- Hydraulic disc brakes: Separate front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled stopping performance.
- 17-inch/14-inch wheel package: The larger wheel combination improves rollover capability on ruts, rocks, and uneven off-road terrain.
- Long-travel suspension: Front and rear suspension help absorb bumps and maintain control on appropriate off-road riding surfaces.
- Rider information display: The digital dashboard displays speed, engine rpm, gear position, trip information, and accumulated mileage.
- Hi/Lo headlight: The Pro configuration includes a selectable headlight. The headlight does not make the motorcycle street legal.
- Heavy-duty drive system: Uses a 116-link #428 drive chain.
Who Is the FX140 For?
The FX140 is best suited to experienced teen and adult riders who can safely operate a manual clutch, support a roughly 171-pound motorcycle, reach every control, and place their feet securely when stopped. The owner’s manual recommends the FX140 for riders 16 years of age or older.
Age alone does not determine fit. Rider height, inseam, strength, coordination, judgment, and prior riding experience must all be considered. A rider should be able to hold the motorcycle upright, mount and dismount safely, reach the handlebars and foot controls, and operate the clutch and both brakes without straining.

Assembly and First-Ride Preparation
The FX140 ships mostly assembled in a freight crate, but it is not ready to ride immediately after uncrating. Final assembly, adjustment, and a complete pre-delivery inspection are required. FRP estimates approximately 30–45 minutes for basic setup, but actual time depends on experience.
GoPowerSports strongly recommends final setup and inspection by a qualified powersports technician. At minimum, the person performing setup must:
- Follow the official assembly and owner’s manual completely.
- Verify the engine-oil level and correct oil type before starting the engine.
- Inspect fuel lines and check for fluid leaks.
- Confirm that handlebars, wheels, axles, spokes, suspension, controls, and accessible fasteners are properly installed and tightened.
- Check that the throttle operates smoothly and snaps fully closed at every steering position.
- Verify front and rear brake operation and brake-fluid levels.
- Check cold tire pressure and inspect both tires, tubes, rims, and valve stems.
- Check drive-chain alignment, lubrication, and 8–10 mm chain slack.
- Confirm clutch free play and smooth engagement.
- Perform the prescribed break-in procedure before high-rpm, high-load, or extended operation.
Engine oil should be checked before every ride. The manual recommends changing the engine oil after every 15 hours of riding and servicing the motorcycle more frequently when it is operated in wet, muddy, or dusty conditions. Always follow the latest owner’s manual supplied with the motorcycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast does the FRP FX140 go?
FRP rates the FX140 for a top speed of approximately 65 mph. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed speed. Rider weight, terrain, altitude, weather, maintenance, break-in, tire pressure, and other conditions affect actual performance.
Is the FX140 a beginner dirt bike?
The FX140 is not FRP’s entry-level model. It has a manual clutch, manufacturer-rated 65 mph capability, a 33.9-inch seat, and an approximately 171-pound machine weight. New or smaller riders should consider the FX40 or an appropriately configured FX125.
Is the FX140 automatic?
No. It has a four-speed manual transmission with a hand-operated clutch. Riders must learn clutch engagement, gear selection, downshifting, and coordinated braking.
Does it have electric start?
Yes. The FX140 includes electric start and a kick-start backup. Always start the motorcycle in neutral according to the owner’s manual.
Does it require mixed gas?
No. The four-stroke engine uses gasoline and engine oil separately. The owner’s manual specifies unleaded gasoline rated at 90 octane or higher. Never mix two-stroke oil into the fuel.
Is the FX140 street legal?
No. The FX140 is designed for off-road use only and does not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for public-road operation. A headlight does not make it street legal. Consult applicable state and local laws before operating the motorcycle.
Can two people ride it?
No. The FX140 is designed for one operator only. Never carry a passenger.
What is the rider weight limit?
The manufacturer-rated maximum load is 265 pounds, including the rider, apparel, and anything carried on the motorcycle.
What warranty does it have?
Warranty and return eligibility for purchases from GoPowerSports are governed by the warranty and return terms posted by GoPowerSports. Damage caused by improper assembly, neglected maintenance, misuse, accidents, racing, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear may not be covered. Contact GoPowerSports before purchase if you need confirmation of coverage for a specific component or use.
