The GPS180: A Minibike Race Like No Other

What is the GPS 180 Race?

A group of riders racing dirt bikes on a track.

The GPS 180 is not just a race; it's an exhilarating test of endurance, skill, and strategy for minibike enthusiasts. Hosted by GoPowerSports, this 180-minute endurance race challenges riders to push their limits and showcase their prowess on the track. Set against the backdrop of the expansive GPS Ranch, the event is a celebration of minibike culture and community, drawing participants from all over to partake in this unique experience.

Who Can Join?

The GPS180 is open to a wide range of participants, from seasoned racers to newcomers. Whether you're a solo rider or part of a team, there's a category for you:

  • Soft Tail Class: For teams or individuals racing on minibikes equipped with rear suspension, offering a smoother ride over the rugged terrain.
  • Hard Tail Class: For those racing on minibikes without rear suspension, challenging riders to rely on their skill and strategy to navigate the course
  • Junior Class: A special category for young riders aged 15 and under, racing on a shorter track designed to introduce them to the thrill of competitive racing.

Race Ready and Regulations

To ensure a fair and exciting competition, the GPS180 has specific rules that all participants must adhere to:

  • Engine Requirements: Outlaw engines are allowed, but all must be 4-stroke and pull-start, ensuring a level playing field.
  • Wheel Size: A maximum of 10" wheels is permitted, keeping the focus on minibike performance rather than size.
  • Safety Features: All minibikes must have a handler kill switch and functioning brakes, prioritizing rider safety.
  • Rider Gear: Participants must wear a DOT-approved full-face helmet, ankle-covering shoes or boots, long sleeves, and long pants. Gloves and goggles are highly recommended to protect against elements and enhance safety.
  • Waiver and Inspection: All riders must sign a waiver and pass a minibike inspection on race day, ensuring compliance with the rules and readiness for the race.
