Runs...
Can’t get this thing dialed in. Despite multiple idle jet sizes, adjusting needle height, and leveling float, can’t get this thing to idle correctly. Runs very rich. Initially soaking the spark plug with gas, now just black soot. Pretty disappointed.

Great step up, but may need a different jet.
This carb is a great step up beyond stage 1 (intake and exhaust). GPS notably prejets them for upgraded cam and compression ratio (thinner .010" head gasket) that comes in many of the upgrade kits. I have a Tillotson 212EE in my Mega Moto 212 and added the VM22 clone plus deleted the governor and added a Juggernaut. The VM22 comes, as a generic carb, with a 100 jet. GPS ships theirs with a 130 for upgraded cams, etc. This is just too much for the more basic set of mods. Many people recommend a 110 for a stage 1 and gov-delete so consider buying that jet or just buying a complete chinese jet set for a few bucks more. If you ordered it as-is for a stage 1 plus gov delete, consider dropping the 130 main jet circuit from 1-1/2 turns out down to 3/8 turn out and adjust the needle e-clip from the default middle position to the one closest to the end. This will get you close for an engine with essentially just an exhaust and governor delete. With a 110 jet a main jet of 1 turn out and middle needle clip position works pretty good. 49 mph consistently at max 5,500 rpm. Also, unlike you would probably normally do, install the intake pipe onto the carburetor FIRST and look down the throat of the intake pipe (looking backwards, so towards the carb itself) and center it carefully so that the rubber o-ring on the carb is making contact all the way around the flange of the intake pipe while you tighten the two pieces together or you will get massively lean condition and be unable to drop rpms to idle.

Gives my bike a nice bump in power and response.
I ordered this and finally installed it. At first it didn't work. I found out that for some reason there were 2 bolts just bouncing around in the float bowl'(I'm assuming a shipping thing to stop the float from flopping in shipping) I took those out and it runs incredible.

A nice kit, had an issue with some of the bolts being short but swapped them with 1/4-20s instead.
