Product Description
The Ultimate Bolt On Torque Converter Kit for 8-18 HP engines. This TAV Kit is specifically for big block engines (Predator 301/420, GX270/390, etc) with 1" Crankshafts. If used on engines larger than 18 HP, you will burn up belts.

Disappointed
Everything on the kit looks good. The problem I’m having is that with the clutches aligned the belt becomes out of alignment as you travel through the rpm range. If you shim the clutches enough you can have the belt tuning true at the higher rpm but it will be way off at lower rpm- idle. The only way I have found to correct this is by flipping the “primary” or driving clutche backwards. This now requires the “secondary” or driven clutch to be shimmed way out! Like 2 inches further out. But the belt will run true throughout the full rpm range.

aggervated to say the least..
well where to start. ordered parts waited for shipping cool built the frame and such i needed get it all in delivered look at the comet instructions the damn driver has to be reversed and the driven pulley spaced out over 2 inches per comet. but yet the photo on the site says NOTHING about this issue to install it properly.. now after days of messing around scratching my head i need to spend more un needed money for a reverse spring to make it work like the photo shows since when engauged they go OPPOSITE directions causing the belt to bend instead of staying on a flat plane.. Guess ill give OMB my business since they ship same day and are cheaper..

Hardware
Was the wrong gasket for my exhaust so I just don’t have one at all and the bolts were completely wrong to bolt into the engine

Perfect build quality but a little negligence...
Lets nake it immediately clear that i received everything i ordered in great shape and... A little more.
To explain you have to understand that this 40 series kit like most other 40 series kits is advertised with a red spring preinstalled. To my surprise my order actually came with the more torquey yellow spring installed which is great, a 15$ upcharge for free!
Now the issue is that my order, which contained 2 items ( a 40 series torque converter, and a yellow spring) i ended up paying for a spring that i didnt need. I wasnt notified that the springs were changed out or substituted. And didnt recieve any heads up that i was buying something i didnt need. I did call a few times 2 hours before close and didnt get an answer so i just moved past it.
