Is the Extreme Vintage Build Right for You?
- Build Time: A weekend. One first-time builder finished in about 6 hours over a few sessions, working alone with hand tools. With the free gloss black powder coat, there's no painting step, so you can start building the day it arrives.
- Skill Level: Beginner-friendly. The frame comes fully welded, so you bolt on the axle, front end, pedals, seat, engine and torque converter, then set the chain and cables. Watch our off-road vintage kart build video to see every step.
- Tools You'll Need: Two sets of SAE wrenches or sockets (7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 3/4" and 15/16"), 8mm and 10mm for the metric engine and cable bolts, a 3/16" Allen wrench, pliers and a tape measure. A #420 chain breaker makes sizing the chain easy, since length can vary.
- Everything to Ride, One Price: Engine and torque converter included. Building the same setup from our Roller Kit (18" tire package), a Tillotson 212E and a 30 Series torque converter with riser kit costs about $360 more. Just add oil and gas.
- Built for Rough Ground: 18" rear cleats on a 40" live axle drive both rear wheels, with knobby fronts and springer spindles to soak up bumps.
- Fits Kids and Adults: The Texas-made frame is stretched longer than the original Manco, with about 40" from seat back to pedals.

The Extreme Vintage Go-Kart Kit is our flagship single-seat off-road kart package. It is built around an extended American-made vintage-style frame inspired by the classic Manco American Express and manufactured in Texas.
This complete package includes the XL Vintage Go-Kart Frame, Tillotson 212E Hemi pull-start engine, 30 Series Torque Converter Kit, live-axle drivetrain, mechanical rear brake, steering, pedals, wheels, tires, seat, controls, and assembly hardware.
No welding is required because the frame arrives fully welded. Assembly, basic hand tools, mechanical knowledge, and proper test-fitting are required before riding.

What Else Do I Need?
The Extreme Vintage Kit includes the primary engine and drivetrain components, but you will still need basic shop supplies and safety equipment to complete and operate the kart.

Builder’s Technical Notes
- Mock Up Before Final Assembly: Test-fit all components on the frame first. If a hole needs enlarging or a part needs adjusting, drilling may chip the powder coat, so work carefully and touch up any bare metal.
- Minor Adjustments: Small adjustments or hole enlargement may be needed during assembly. The torque converter cover may need a small notch for clearance.
- Drivetrain Setup: Confirm chain alignment, axle hardware, torque converter installation, and all fasteners before riding.
- Brake and Throttle Check: Confirm brake operation, throttle return, steering movement, and kill-switch operation before every ride.
- Torque Converter Guard: Keep the torque converter cover installed during operation.
