Is the Vintage Go-Kart Build Right for You?
- Build Time: Our crew built one in about two hours on camera, engine included. Plan on 2–4 hours. With the free gloss black powder coat, there's no painting step, so you can start bolting it together the day it arrives.
- Skill Level: Beginner-friendly. The frame comes fully welded and the parts come labeled, so you bolt it together, set the alignment and adjust the brake and throttle cables. Our step-by-step build video walks through every part.
- Tools You'll Need: 7/16", 1/2", 9/16" and 10mm wrenches or sockets, a 3/16" Allen wrench, an adjustable wrench (or 1-1/16" socket) for the axle nuts, a drill for the kill-switch mount and a tape measure for alignment. A #420 chain breaker is handy, since chain length varies with your engine and drivetrain.
- Engine Not Included, So It's Your Build: The chain and 60T sprocket are already in the kit. A Tillotson 212E, 10T #420 clutch and engine mount hardware add about $290. Choose the 30 Series torque converter with riser kit instead of the clutch for about $415.
- Fits Kids and Adults: We stretched this frame longer than the original Manco for more adult legroom (about 40" from seat back to pedals) without making it too long for kids.

The Vintage Go-Kart Roller Kit is a modern take on the legendary Manco American Express design. Built around an American-made welded steel frame, this kit gives you the foundation to create a vintage-style go-kart for recreational riding, family projects, or custom performance builds.
The roller kit includes the frame, steering, front suspension, live axle, brake system, pedals, seat, wheels, tires, chain, hardware, and other major rolling-chassis components. The engine is not included, allowing you to choose the powerplant and drivetrain that best fit your build.
Important: This is a roller kit and does not include an engine. You will need to select an engine, clutch or torque converter, and any required drivetrain components separately.

Select the tire package that best matches your riding surface. All tire packages are the same price except the 18-inch Rear Cleat package, which adds $350 and includes the longer 40-inch axle.

Assembly and Builder Notes
- Assembly Required: Basic tools and mechanical assembly are required.
- Mock Up Before Final Assembly: Test-fit all components on the frame first. If a hole needs enlarging or a part needs adjusting, drilling may chip the powder coat, so work carefully and touch up any bare metal.
- Minor Adjustments: Some parts may require minor adjustment or hole enlargement during assembly.
- Drivetrain Setup: Confirm chain alignment, axle hardware, brake operation, throttle return, and all fasteners before riding.
